After another episode of domestic violence, Fiorella — a mother of three — decides to leave her husband, their home and the life they shared. At fifty-eight, after forty years of marriage, she files for legal separation in search of freedom and new ways of living.

Equipped with a small camera, her daughter Valentina follows her first steps into an uncertain future. Their journey confronts both women — and the community around them — with patriarchal structures and with changing ideas of family and society.
